Blueberry, Cauliflower and Spinach Smoothie Recipe

Smoothies are a fun brain-supporting snack or meal that you can make on the go with whatever ingredients you have on hand. When building a brain-healthy smoothie, it’s important to include certain components to ensure it’s balanced with essential nutrients including fiber, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and protein.

This recipe includes balanced brain-healthy ingredients including blueberries, a great source of anthocyanins and flavonols like myricetin, and spinach which is packed with magnesium, kaempferol and fiber. Almonds and chia seeds are also high in fiber and magnesium as well as omega-3s and protein. These nutrients have profound effects on brain health as studies have suggested that they act as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents.

Don’t have these exact ingredients? As long as you follow the basic formula, you can substitute any berries, greens, nut milk or seeds you have on hand to make it your own!
